Heavenly Pop began with an Israeli homecoming. After living in New York, Yaakov Wagshul made aliyah with his family, settling in the Land of Milk and Honey and eventually turning a favorite caramel popcorn recipe into a Jerusalem business. What began in his home kitchen in 2019 soon grew beyond it, and in 2024, Yaakov passed Heavenly Pop to his grandson, Shmuel Horwitz, who moved production to a larger factory in Kfar Etzion, among the rolling Judean Hills south of Jerusalem.

As Heavenly Pop grew, Shmuel found a way for that growth to reach other families in the community, creating jobs for people with disabilities on the company’s packing line. New factory, new generation, new chapter—and at the center of it all is the caramel popcorn recipe his grandfather first made in Jerusalem.

Each kernel is coated with a blend of sugar, oil, coconut oil, vanilla, and a touch of salt, creating a crisp caramel shell around airy popcorn. Pour it into a bowl after a festive meal, pass it around beneath the schach, and savor the sweet crunch of a family recipe that traveled from New York to Jerusalem and into the Judean Hills.
